Luke came in and woke us up this morning. Little boys serve as wonderful jumping alarm clocks. We got up and found Sophie asleep on her bathroom rug. LOL – somewhere between getting ready for school and going downstairs she thought a quick nap was in order.
We all met downstairs for breakfast in the kitchen. Meghan told us that Greer had gotten sick during the night but she seemed to be on the mend and up to her inquisitive ways again by breakfast time. We said goodbye to Sophie and watched as she and her friend boarder her school bus. There was something very wholesome about seeing little kids board a bright yellow school bus. Just a little piece of Americana.
Luke put on the TV and watched one of his favorite shows Little Einsteins while Greer beat a Caribbean rhythm on a plastic drum. We enjoyed just hanging out for a few minutes before packing up our bags and bring our stuff downstairs.

Before we left we had some playtime with Luke and Greer and here is some funny video of them in their playroom. We said our goodbyes and gave Meghan and the kids a hug. Luke asked when he would see us again and when we answered “soon” he said that just wasn’t good enough – LOL. It was sad to leave family again but what would a road trip be without hitting the road.
We took a rather circuitous route today driving SE down to Hershey Pennsylvania. It turned out to be quite a hike and we hit some substantial traffic west of Hershey about 5pm. It took us a while to track down our campsite but when we did we were pleasantly surprised. Hershey’s High Meadow Campsite is a well maintained campsite with huge Oak hammock and a couple of streams running through it.

We unhooked Kodi and drove into town famished and looking for grub. We drove around Hershey Park and found a FedEx box to drop our package in the morning. We headed back west a mile or two and found a restaurant with a nice patio and just turned the pace of life down a notch and enjoyed the evening and the diner.
It was nice to finally slow down after the long driving day and know that we were going to be here at least longer than the night. Once we got back to Kodi we topped the night off with watching the season finale of the Bachelor. He chose Tess in case you cared to know. Hope that doesn’t spoil it. After that it didn’t take us long to nod off and I went to sleep comforted by the fact that High Meadows had a good internet connection and I could get some much needed work done an updates posted.
