Day 66 - Vancouver to Kamloops via Hope

We woke to a cloudy day in Vancouver. Seeing as how I had some work to do online it wasn’t too much of a bummer. Kam and I both got a nice workout in at the RV park’s fitness center and made a nice bacon and egg breakfast before packing up for our drive.

We took Hwy 1 heading east and it wasn’t too long before the Canadian Rockies started to rise on the horizon. When we stopped for lunch in Hope, the mountains were like a veritable vertical wall looming over the little city. We pulled into Georgia’s restaurant for a delicious soup, salad and sandwich lunch. Check out the video to see our favorite Hope resident.

We continued on towards Kamloops via Hwy 5 and pulled into our RV park around 4pm. Our site was next to a little creek and while Kam took a spin through the local grocery store I set up camp and hung the grill for supper and just enjoyed the peaceful scene.

Relaxing in camping chair and reading my new book ‘100 mile diet’ was such a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. It is nice every once in a while to not have the agenda completely packed.

I picked up some fire wood and build a nice fire. I put some dinner together while Kamrin relaxed after shopping. With some Salmon from the store I whipped up a Risotto dish that was a crazy amalgamation of what was on hand in the cupboards.

It turned out pretty well and we ate by the fire before retiring for a little reading in bed before catching some shut eye. You know despite the lack of excitement today I have to admit it was nonetheless a really good day. Clean air, a bubbling brook, a campfire, my wife and snuggling in bed with a good book. Two thumbs up in my opinion!!
