I woke up with a beginnings of a sore throat but not wanting to admit it to myself I just got up and had some breakfast downstairs while Kam slept a bit longer. The Inn at Sonoma had quite a spread prepared and I enjoyed reading the newspaper and taking advantage of the complimentary breakfast. I brought a plate up to Kam and we started getting ready for a cycling tour around the valley.
Sonoma has a 3-4 ft. bike lane on many of their roads and we found it pretty easy to navigate around the vineyards. As the terrain isn’t too steep it made for a wonderful ride without the challenge of being in the Pyrenees.
We returned to the Inn and packed up after our ride and began heading back towards SF. We made a final winery visit for a tasting at Nickleson ranch, because Susanne promised to disown us if we didn’t visit. We’re glad she threatened because the vineyard was gorgeous and the tasting room and accompanying main house were equally impressive. Our sommelier Mark was a nice guy and was full of travel tips for our Yosemite visit tomorrow.

With our last tasting completed we lounged on the veranda for a while not wanting to have to face the hustle and bustle of the city again, quite yet. Eventually we left Nickleson and got back on the freeway. Just before the Golden Gate bridge we stopped of in Sausalito for lunch on the water at the Cat and the Fiddle. It was about then that my body really started to feel ill, like I had a flu coming on.
We made a beeline back to the city and since it was close to weekend hours for parking we decided to park the truck in the city rather than return it to the RV Park. WE found a spot right in front of our flat. Thank you Lord for small mercies. I limped upstairs and into bed hoping a nap would offset the pending sickness. Kam did a little shopping at Sephora and the Gap on our block and then came back to join me for a nap.
After Susanne got off work I put Kam in a cab and she headed across town to meet Susanne for drinks and dinner. I walked a block to the Walgreens and stocked up on cold medication. I went home made my anti-flu concoction and went back to bed.

Susanne met Kam at Powell street and they walked to the Irish Bank to meet Mikie and Susanne’s cousin Todd for a drink before Mikie had to head out of town. Once Mikie hit the road the threesome drove to the Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant for dinner. Kam had a good time and then she and Susanne shared a cab back to the Marina district. Kam checked on her patient and then she too was off to bed.
