This was our last day in morning in Newport. We took a walk with Laura, Ozzie and her granddaughter to Balboa Island for breakfast. Reagan was as cute as an Easter bunny and we had a blast watching her interact with the people and places we passed on the way.

Breakfast at Wilma’s patio was delicious. We sat outside and enjoyed our French toast, waffles and pankcakes. Ozzie was a prince and kept guard as we ate.
We took a leisurely stroll back to the apartment then it was time for goodbyes. We had such a wonderful time visiting Laura and Lou and it was sad to leave. We almost had to take a few castaways with us - see the picture below. After booting the freeloaders of the Fox we shared a few hugs and kisses we were on the road again, heading north towards Thousand Oaks.

We fought traffic almost the whole way through LA and on to Thousand Oaks and were grateful to finally get off the freeway. We found our stop for the night and since our friends weren’t getting out of work until later we went to a local mall and watched the new animated feature film “Meet the Robinsons”. It was really cute and we followed it up with a spin through my favorite store – Barnes and Noble.
We returned to the Fields home afterwards and met Brian outside. Brian and Carmel Fields are friends of mine from Australia and they now live State side. They had a really cute home in Thousand Oaks and fortunately their lot was adjacent to a park which provided us street side parking for Kodi.

The Fields prepared a delicious steak and potatoes dinner for us and we spent a few hours catching up, telling new tales and just enjoying each others company. Again it was great to see another group of friends from my time in Australia doing so well and happily married.
We talked into the evening and then took advantage of the comfortable confines of their guest bedroom for an excellent nights sleep.
