We took some time to do some web updates in the morning and then we packed up Kodi and drove a few miles north of the RV park to meet Kamrin’s former DeVos classmate Jess Siegele at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Jess is currently interning with the Paralympics and blind athletes. She had been busy recently coordinating an international blind athletes multi-diciplinary competition including sports like judo, swimming, wrestling and an adaptation of dodge ball and soccer where the balls have bells in them.
The Training facilities were so nice. Everything was world class and it left little doubt in my mind that the coaching was equally impressive. I would love live on the center’s campus and be around such amazing athletes and utilize the facility in my own triathlon training. Granted I pale in comparison to the level of athleticism of even the least Olympian but the camaraderie and synergy I could feel in the center would be a powerful motivator.
I did get a chance to do little training check out the video.
We gave Jess a tour of Kodi and then said goodbye until later that evening when we would gather with some of Kam’s other classmates living in and around the Denver area.

A short drive brought us to Denver and to our well located but left much to be desired. We parked Kodi next to a dead potted tree on a crumbling concrete pad. The place was so gross that we didn’t even attempt to use the public fascilites. Sometimes finding an RV park is a real crap shoot. This park unbelievably had a 2 raiting by AAA and based on former parks we had stayed in with that rating we had expected much much better than what we discovered in this RV “Resort” LOL.
Anyhow it did provide us a nice launching point for our stay in Denver. We tied Kodi down and prayed he’d still be there when we returned. A couple of exits away we found a nice shopping area and while Kam got a manicure I visited my favorite store, Barnes and Noble. I of course bought a book and enjoyed a coffee while I waited for Kam.
Kam met me in B&N and we passed the time chatting, reading and pursuing the periodicals. We left in time to travel across town to meet friends for dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery. It was so good to see Ryan and Sara after not seeing them December. Jess also drove up from Colorado Springs and we all enjoyed the food, the brew and the company. It was a great way to cap off another great day.
After dinner we stopped by Ryans apartment to take a tour and catch up. The development was really nice and Ryan had found himself a nice place to call home. Then it was off to home…LOL…It is funny that Kodi is now home.

Hey guys! It was great to see you!!! Glad you came through my way!
