We rose early this morning and popped open the Kodi’s garage to begin packing and planning for our hike from Taos Ski Village today. With our camel backs filles, sat hone and GPS in hand and an assortment of other necessities we set off towards the village.
Our first stop was the info center which had trail maps and the woman in charge advised us as to which trails were doable. We picked a 5 mile return trip trail up to Bull in the Woods meadow.
The mountain trail here are still covered in snow so we rented snowshoes and poles and walked to the trail head. Neither Kamrin nor I had used snowshoes before so the first mile or so took on a comical air as we waddled up the trail. The hike was pretty strenuous but we were fortunate to have great weather and I was even hiking in shorts.
It took us about an hour and a half to make it to the top and we only passed one other group coming the other direction so it was nice to have the trail mostly to ourselves. It was so peaceful and quiet and the solitude was only interrupted by the gurgling stream and the chirping of birds. We took a break at the top to have a snack, slap on some sunscreen and man up for the decent.

We found it much easier going on the way down and we were back in the village in no time. After returning the gear we found a courtyard and set up shop. Lounging in the chairs overlooking the slopes with two piping hot chocolates to sooth our aching muscles. We read some from out books and just enjoyed the afternoon watching as families came down the hill on their last run of the day.
After a while it became crowded in our little balcony so we headed home. We got cleaned up and then cooked some dinner. We caught a March Madness game on TV then read a little and then off to bed.

great site mate. love it. I’ll be following your journey through the USA. blessings bro and have a great trip.
Maybe we’ll hear about bun in the oven while you are traveling. Or like they say in Korea, “a log in the fire”.
