Day 19 - Exploring Boulder and Kickball extraveganza

Day 19

Unbelievably we have already driven the Silver Fox (my Ford F-150) 5,000 miles and it was due for a tune up. So we made and appointment in Boulder, CO, 45 minutes NW of Denver, to get the Fox all lubed up and rotated.

We dropped the truck off and found a nice place for breakfast. The work took no time at all and before we knew it we were back on the road. Only a few blocks from the dealership was the intersection of Folsom Rd and Pearl St. We parked the Fox and set out along the pedestrian shopping district along Pearl St. With all sorts of unique shops and restaurants, Kam and I felt instantly at home.

Downtown Boulder, well at least this are, is so cool. Lots to see, plenty of active people jogging, biking and lounging in the grass playing board games. It had a really atmosphere. We did a fair bit of shopping and found some bargains. We ate lunch at Illegal Pete’s and you can see how that played out below.

We followed up lunch with a beautiful drive up to Nederland, CO. We stopped at the Boulder Falls and took a little tour of the interesting town of Nederland.

Following our Boulder foray we met up with Kate Ferris, Kamrin’s old Rollins College volleyball teammate. It was our second visit to the Ferris homestead and the recent addition of Koda, Kate’s golden retriever puppy made the visit that much more wonderful. It was good catching up but before long we were off to cheer Kate on at her kickball game. Yep kickball – check out the video.

After the game Momma Ferris has prepared an outstanding steak and potato feats for the family and Kate’s two sisters, Sarah and Anne joined us as well as Woody a family friend. It was good camaraderie around the table and we were lothe to leave the good company for our desolate RV park. Nevertheless we ventured back to Kodi and we’re quickly asleep.
